خَطَبَ الإِمَامُ الْحَسَنُ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ) مُبَيِّناً حِكْمَةَ الصُّلْحِ وَحِفْظِ الْأُمَّةِ، فَقَالَ:
«أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ! إِنَّ أَكْيَسَ الْكَيْسِ التُّقَى، وَإِنَّ أَحْمَقَ الْحُمْقِ الْفُجُورُ. وَإِنَّكُمْ لَوْ طَلَبْتُمْ بَيْنَ جَابَلْقَ وَجَابَرْسَ رَجُلاً جَدُّهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ (ص) مَا وَجَدْتُمُوهُ غَيْرِي وَغَيْرَ أَخِي الْحُسَيْنِ. وَإِنَّ أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ فِتْنَةٌ لَكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَى حِينٍ... إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ حَقْنَ دِمَاءِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ خَيْراً مِنْ إِرَاقَتِهَا، وَلَمْ أُرِدْ بِذَلِكَ إِلَّا صَلَاحَكُمْ وَبَقَاءَكُمْ، ﴿وَإِنْ أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ فِتْنَةٌ لَّكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ﴾.»
English Translation
Imam al-Hasan (AS) addressed the people elucidating the philosophy of the peace treaty and the safeguarding of the Muslim Ummah:
'O people! Truly the sharpest sagacity is piety, and the sheerest foolishness is corruption. If you were to search between the farthest east and the farthest west for a man whose grandfather is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, you would find none save myself and my brother al-Husayn. I deemed the preservation of Muslim blood to be far better than shedding it, and my intention through this was nothing other than your preservation, your reform, and the safeguarding of Islam: ﴿And I know not, but perhaps it is a trial for you and an enjoyment for a season!﴾'
اردو ترجمہ
امام حسن مجتبیؑ نے صلح کی حکمت اور امت کے تحفظ پر خطبہ دیتے ہوئے ارشاد فرمایا:
«اے لوگو! سب سے بڑی دانائی تقویٰ و پرہیزگاری ہے، اور سب سے بڑی حماقت و نادانی گناہ اور فسق ہے۔ اور اگر تم مشرق سے مغرب تک تلاش کرو تو میرے اور میرے بھائی حسینؑ کے علاوہ روئے زمین پر کوئی ایسا شخص نہیں پاؤ گے جس کے نانا رسول اللہ ﷺ ہوں! میں نے دیکھا کہ مسلمانوں کے خون کی حفاظت کرنا اس کو بہانے سے کہیں بہتر ہے۔ اور میرا مقصد اس اقدام سے صرف اور صرف تمہاری بقا، تمہاری اصلاح اور دینِ اسلام کی حفاظت کے سوا کچھ نہ تھا، ﴿اور میں نہیں جانتا، شاید یہ تمہارے لیے ایک آزمائش ہو اور ایک مقررہ وقت تک کا فائدہ!﴾»
